OHIP Coverage
Patients Aged 0 - 19 Years Old
Patients aged 0 to 19 years old are covered by OHIP for a routine eye examination once every 12 months plus any follow-up assessments that may be required.
Patients Aged 20-64
Routine eye exams for patients aged 20 to 64 are not covered by OHIP unless they have a medical condition, such as glaucoma or diabetes
For patients uninsured by OHIP coverage, most third party providers have some form of vision benefits. Please ask our staff if you have any questions.
Patients Aged 65+
Patients aged 65+ years old are covered by OHIP for a routine eye examination once every 18 months or once every 12 months with an eligible medical condition. Two follow-up exams between routine exams are also covered.
